Product detailed description
When technique becomes part of the music
“Easy Guitar Pieces 4” by Stanislav Juřica is designed to develop the fundamental technical and expressive skills of young guitarists. The individual pieces were created in response to specific needs of students, such as improving tone production, the function of the right hand or the positioning of the fingers of the left hand on the fingerboard. Each piece has its own pedagogical purpose, yet these are not conventional etudes, but performance pieces in which the technical element being practised is naturally incorporated into musical expression. An important part of the approach is also work with the resonance of the strings, subsequent preparation of the right hand and appropriate articulation. The result is practical material that helps develop technique in a way that ultimately becomes music, which remains a rather useful trick in guitar pedagogy.
For young guitarists
The pieces focus on gradually improving the fundamental elements of guitar playing and naturally incorporating technique into musical performance.
Technique in music
The technical elements being practised are not separated from musicality, but are directly incorporated into performance and expressive playing.
Experienced teacher
The author is Stanislav Juřica, an experienced guitar teacher whose work has long focused on the practical needs of students.
The pieces were created in response to the students’ need to improve tone production and therefore the function of the right hand, to improve the position of the fingers on the fingerboard and to refine the fundamental elements of guitar playing. Each piece therefore has a specific pedagogical purpose. The technique of playing, characterised here by keeping the fingers of the left hand on the strings for longer and allowing them to resonate, together with subsequent preparation and playing from the strings in the right hand, makes it possible from the very beginning to achieve better and more specific expressive means for performance with appropriate articulation. These are not etudes whose purpose is to develop playing technique, but performance pieces in which the specific technical improvement is incorporated into musical performance. The pieces should therefore not merely be “played through”, but should also encourage the child’s spontaneous musicality.
